My folks each have approximately 900 active customers. Those customers are spread across 4 territories that cover the U.S.

Could you add some context around how many invoices annually are produced for each of those 700 accounts per collector and how many deductions annually if you get any?

We only have about 350 accounts in total across US, CAD and MX. This is an interesting question in order to prepare for budget requests.

Your answers would only be relevant if the businesses that respond are similar to your business.

My collectors have territories. However, the territories are not split equally as some territories have much more business than others. We also take into account dollar volumes and types of accounts. My team members have a lot fewer accounts than your collectors, but they also do much more than just collection.

Each of our Senior Credit Analysts are responsible for a portfolio of 200 accounts totaling +/- $120.0M. The assumptions are the following, considering that only 20% of accounts in a specific portfolio are delinquent, therefore our Analysts put more emphasis on credit risk management (scoring their financial statements to ensure adequate credit limit, adjust terms of payments and determine ability to pay and creditworthiness) rather than collections. Our Credit metrics are more than respectable.

Well, it is different based on the OpCo.

Biggest territory – 950 accts
Mid Wed Territory – 350 accts + extra duties
Smallest NY territory, but always problem accounts – 400+

I just looked at this recently. Our collectors handle 1,500 to 2k accounts each. These are accounts with terms (open accounts).
